InteractiveBrokers. How to activate a trail order from a certain level
Hello. At InteractiveBrokers, does anyone know how to place a trail stop order but which is activated after the price has traveled 20 ticks in favor? Thank you.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hello,
Maybe you can modify a TRAIL order by setting a condition on price of the undelying contract : 20 ticks higher here
Have a look at : https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=584
I suggest you try it first on your IB simulated account.
This Video by IB explains how you can set up the ALERTS panel with a conditional order that will put in a stop order or stop limit order if your Symbol/Mkt hits a specific profit price value of your choice above your entry price.
You would learn how to do this Conditional Alert Action Setup and then save YOUR Conditional Alert Action text to the Alerts archive folder or save the Conditional Alert Text to a Text file on your PC to copy paste back into the conditional alert area and modify for different stocks.
In a nutshell... Your TWS Alert would perform an ACTION event in TWS (place an order) as well as optionally alert you to that action event being executed.
