This is my first post, so if it's in the wrong place, feel free to set me straight.
Anyway, I am a very part-time supply/demand trader using market profile to trade futures, specifically GC and CL. I am looking to learn more about volume profile in order to gain a little better edge, but I don't want to overhaul my entire strategy, just add a tool. Any advice on good material to learn this in a practical sense?
I have looked at YouTube videos from NeuroStreet, Tradeacc, and Convergent Trading, and they all seem pretty interesting. As trading is not my main job, and because I already have a trading approach that works, I'm not willing to drop thousands of dollars to learn this. Does anyone know of a good resource (book, reasonably priced online course, website, etc.) that would help here? I already understand the basics of volume profile, so I just need some sound practical principles (ideal would be general trade setups under what conditions, with some examples) that I can use to dip my foot in the waters.
Thanks!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
The consensus among old timers on this forum is that, like you pointed out, there shouldn't be any need to pay ridiculous sums to get information which mostly can be found for free.
Have you looked at the search tool on here yet? You can find it on the top-right corner of the forum and by typing "volume profile" you get quite a lot of search results.
I would recommend to start there.
If you need any tips on how to use the advanced search functions I am happy to help.
